Category sorting

Hi, Katherineamy! You've shown up on my watchlist a few times in the past. I wanted to stop by in regards to this edit. Do you use a program for these sortings? If so, you might want to be careful - some categories are sorted by lowercase (especially taxonomy categories, since the species epithets are lowercase), so sorting by uppercase species epithet would throw off that entry in the category (Category:Utricularia). In a discussion at WT:PLANTS, editors expressed a preference for one or the other, but seemed to accept either, though strong arguments were made for lowercase. Anyway, it should probably be one or the other and since, in this case, all the other Utricularia articles are sorted by lowercase, they should be consistent. Proposed deletion of Baile de Máscaras

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Baile de Máscaras, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Unreferenced. Serves more as a directory than an encyclopedia article without references.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. It is a mistake to try to shoehorn traditional Arabic names into the European naming scheme of inherited surnames as you did here and on some other articles.

Nothing like a traditional European surname is used in the two parallel naming schemes for Arabic names. Geo Swan (talk) 13:35, 23 April 2009 (UTC)

Swansea Cork Ferry

Thanks for your efforts in removing the vexatious edits on Swansea Cork Ferry and Swansea Cork Ferries. There's some history behind the person who is making these disuptive comments and trying to hijack the Wiki entry - they seem to have only posted on these specific entries, and only to cause trouble. Is there a Wiki mechanism for preventing such edits - or is it up to sane & sensible people to keep an eye on the entries and keep "undo"ing this person's mischief ? Thanks

A tag has been placed on Institute of Revenues, Rating, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Ironholds (talk) 10:44, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

Please stop thoughtlessly adding links. The article for Jincheng Group has enough things wrong with it, and adding links to specific articles makes it worse. It is misleading to suggest to the reader that the unverified, and probably poorly translated statements in the text refer to specific things such as those in other Wikipedia articles. If your intention is to improve Jincheng Group, please add reliable sources instead of links.--Dbratland (talk) 17:45, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

Alan Collins

I'm a new inexperienced user and have submitted an article headed Alan Collins (writer). I think it would be easier for searchers to locate this if the heading was just Alan Collins. It's much easier to find the author's own webpage via Google but I'd like the Wikipedia entry to be similarly accessible. Wikipedia already has an Alan Collins who is a sculptor; does this matter? I'd appreciate your advice and instructions how to change the heading if this is permitted. Tenpoundmigrant (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 02:08, 26 August 2009 (UTC).

Your "linking"

Katharineamy, based on your contribution history, it's clear that you think that adding random meaningless links and/or redlinks to articles and then removing {{deadend}} tags is a useful activity. It's not. Please stop it, okay? All it's doing is creating a lot of work for other editors who then have to clean up after you. Dori ❦ (TalkContribsReview) ❦ 00:16, 28 August 2009 (UTC)

If you'd bothered to look more deeply, I am not just adding random meaningless links. I may have made mistakes in a couple of cases - at least, only two of many articles I've undeadended have been brought to my attention, and those articles I will leave alone. Please try to refrain from putting any other editors off doing what might be useful work. Katharineamy (talk) 08:54, 28 August 2009 (UTC)
Speaking for myself, I think the links you added to Pre-hospital trauma assessment were worthwhile and useful. :) Achromatic (talk) 23:49, 30 August 2009 (UTC)
Well, that would be one article. On the other hand, there are these changes, and these changes, and these changes, and these changes, and these changes, and these changes, and these changes... you get the idea.
Given that User:Katharineamy has been making these edits at about the rate of one per minute, solely based on an link suggestion tool, you have to ask yourself: would a bot be allowed to make these changes? If yes, then nearly everything User:Katharineamy does could be done by a bot. If no (as I believe), then this editor should think about why not, and take a look at what value she's adding to the project. Dori ❦ (TalkContribsReview) ❦ 00:25, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
I found the changes you made to Ducati Supermono overall detrimental. The link suggestion tool doesn't seem to understand e.g. the difference between spark plug heat index and meteorological heat index, and either you also don't know the difference, or didn't bother to double check the suggestions. -- Brianhe (talk) 22:27, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
I must agree that you are over-zealous in your linking. Is it really necessary to create links to commonly understood words like: "fence"; "rock"; and "water"? Removing dead-end tags based on this kind of spurious linking does not seem to be very useful. That said, I have to say that I admire your energy and apparent zeal. Tapatio (talk) 08:26, 13 March 2010 (UTC)

This is a clear and blatant case of self promotion. Jeff Mowatt and his associate Terry Hall;man are using Wikipedia to self promote their "company" which goes by the same name. All references on the page created by Jeff Mowatt link back to self initiated and published articles. People Centered Economic Development (Ukraine) has no assets, not offices and no investments in Ukraine. It has no proved successes or direct involvement in any Economic development project in Ukraine. It exist in a virtual word of the internet. No independent verification or referees could be provided. Independent reviews have all come to the same conclusion. Terry Hallman the "director" of the company claims that he has c`lose associations with US president Bill Clinton and US Aid. US Aid deny any association with Mr Hallman Jeff Mowatt or their company. Mr Hallman was expelled from the UK as being an Economic migrant and has been living in Ukraine pretending he is a successful director of an international economic development company, using Wikipedia and other publications as a defacto authorization/verification of what is otherwise unverifiable. I suggest you think again before you bring Wikiedia into disrepute.. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.190.40.8 (talk) 06:10, 3 September 2009 (UTC)

Hi Katharineamy/Archive 2! A biography which you have either created, contributed to, or edited, is completely unreferenced and carries a possible promotional tone (see: COI). All articles, especially biographies, must be neutral and adequately sourced to avoid being deleted. Please be more judicious in linking (I notice that you have had others broach this subject) with the Can We Link It tool. Altered Speedy Deletion rationale: Blue lunar eagle

Hello Katharineamy, and thanks for your work patrolling new changes. I am just informing you that I have deleted a page you tagged (Blue lunar eagle) under a criterion different from the one your provided, which was inappropriate or incorrect. CSD criteria are narrow and specific to protect the encyclopedia, and the process is more effective if the correct deletion rationale is supplied. Consider reviewing the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions or problems, please let me know. Thanks again! NW (Talk) 20:08, 14 November 2009 (UTC)

E-learning/version 2

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on E-learning/version 2, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself.

If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Hgfernan (talk) 00:03, 19 November 2009 (UTC)

You may also edit the article during the discussion to address the nominator's concerns but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. – Eastmain (talk) 00:07, 19 November 2009 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Samarah (band) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. AndrewWTaylor (talk) 19:47, 28 November 2009 (UTC)

Hello Katharineamy! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 4 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. Don't forget to remove the tag!

Hi Katharineamy, I see you're wikifying articles by adding links and you're doing a great job, but I notice you're not removing the {{Wikify}} and {{Dead end}} tag after you're done. Please don't neglect to remove these tags! That's the whole point of doing maintenance work on Wikipedia! To work through the cleanup categories and remove as many tags as possible by fixing whatever problem they designate. It really serves no purpose to leave the tag in place after you've addressed the problem. Could you please make this effort? Thanks, -- œ 14:54, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

My apologies. You are removing the dead-end tag, just not the wikify tag. Although there is a difference between the two (wikify could mean any number of formatting issues) most articles that are tagged with wikify are most usually because they need wikilinks. Chalk it up to redundancy and cautiosness for why people choose to tag an article with both {{Wikify}} and {{Dead end}} tags, but if you do happen to notice articles that have both tags and there's no other wiki-formatting issues besides missing links, then it's safe for you to remove both tags. Once again, sorry for jumping down your throat about this ;) -- œ 14:59, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

Help for Florence House

I'm new on here but noticed you helped edit an article: Florence House, which is now up for deletion (deemed not significant by one user). Any suggestions on showing it's significance? It houses 40 formerly homeless women. There are countless other homeless facilities on Wiki. It would be good to have this one featured as well. Any help would be appreciated! Wikify tag

Thanks for your wikification (adding links) work. Can you please remove the {{wikify}} template from the articles after you're done with them? Otherwise, the articles won't be removed from Category:Articles that need to be wikified. Thanks! Guoguo12--Talk--  20:32, 26 September 2010 (UTC)

marcstylzzz

thanks for editing my page, i'm fairly new to wiki and working on improvements. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Marcstylzzz (talkcontribs) 10:02, 3 October 2010 (UTC) Thank you for your editing - this is my first wiki on 11th MCM and I have asked other veterans to build the subject but it certainly looks in better shape - I am assuming it was you who created the links? Wanted to get the text up and work on it in due course, but that has made my job easier. David garwood —Preceding unsigned comment added by Davidggarwood (talkcontribs) 21:49, 3 October 2010 (UTC)

The article Kirstina Rasmussen has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unreferenced BLP mini stub - "currently" was 2006!

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. LessHeard vanU (talk) 20:49, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for your contributions in patrolling dead pages. Please be careful not to add redlinks to pages like you did in this edit to Zvonko Mucunski. Using the preview button should help you avoid making mistakes like this int the future. MorganKevinJ(talk) 23:33, 29 November 2010 (UTC)

your edit to Anointed Fire Magazine did not correctly use ref tags

In your future edits, please only use ref tags to cite sources in an article. This edit you made to Anointed Fire Magazine did not correctly use ref tags and has been partially reverted. If you have any questions feel free to ask on my talk page. Thank you, MorganKevinJ(talk) 02:27, 3 December 2010 (UTC)

You are right it was the previous editor that misused the ref tags. Sorry for the misunderstanding, MorganKevinJ(talk) 15:26, 3 December 2010 (UTC)

Wikify tags

Hi, thanks for removing the {{wikify}} tags from pages you wikify. However, I noticed that sometimes you don't when an {{article issues}} tag is present instead, like here and here. Just remove the "|wikify = Month Year" section from the template syntax, like you did with the "dead end" portions. Thanks a lot.

In case you didn't know, the {{wikify}} template and the article issues version both place the article in Category:All articles that need to be wikified. It's important that the tags are removed so that the data at Template:Wikification progress stays accurate. Thanks! Guoguo12--Talk--  02:07, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

Now that I come to think of it, "dead end" is pretty different than "wikify". However, both of the examples above, Army Public School, Delhi Cantt and Attitude-toward-the-ad models, have sufficient amounts of links for the wikify template to be removed, in my opinion. Guoguo12--Talk--  02:15, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

Articles with no text need to be marked for speedy deletion.

If you come upon a page without text like Haruka nakamura it should be marked with {{db-nocontent}} or {{db-blanked}} if the author blanked the page. MorganKevinJ(talk) 14:23, 9 December 2010 (UTC)

WikiProject Dacia

Hi, I saw that you collaborated on articles related to Dacia and thought this could be of interest: WikiProject Dacia is looking for supporters, editors and collaborators for creating and better organizing information in articles related to Dacia and the history of Daco-Getae. If interested, PLEASE provide your support on the proposal page. Thanks!!--Codrinb (talk) 03:55, 11 December 2010 (UTC)

User:Morgankevinj has requested mediation on your addition of redlinks to articles at Wikipedia:Mediation Cabal/Cases/2010-12-02/Adding Redlinks. While I don't believe this is necessary, if you want, you can note your willingness to participate there. I've attempted to explain where redlinks are appropriate to the user, so let's see where this goes. Netalarmtalk 03:54, 13 December 2010 (UTC)

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on Lady Godiva Memorial Bnad requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject of the article is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} at the top of the article, immediately below the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate), and providing your reasons for contesting on the article's talk page, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

You may want to read the guidelines for specific types of articles: biographies, websites, bands, or companies. Racepacket (talk) 18:04, 26 December 2010 (UTC)
